Problem Solving - Life Skill at North Side

Congratulations to Miss Culy's 3th grade class for 'rocking' the life skill Problem Solving.

FFA Forestry - 1st Place

UC FFA placed first in the Junior Division of the District 7 Forestry Judging Contest. Team members are Derick W., Ethan M., Katie R., and Skylar S. The contest consists of leaf identification, tree seed identification, and a written test on forest management. Individually Derick placed 2nd, Ethan placed 4th, and Katie placed 9th. There were six teams and 30 students from east central Indiana counties competing in the Jr. Division of the contest. By placing first, the team qualified for the state contest at Purdue University on December 12th.

North Side students learn about fire safety as the Union City fire department and police officers come to Haviza Court. The Fire Department and police officers set up stations for students to learn about fires and ways to protect themself in case of a fire.

Twenty-five RESC teachers were awared grants from the Community Foundation of Randolph County. These grants were awarded for teachers to purchase supplies for in their classroom.

UC SADD and PD - Distracted Driving Experience

S.A.D.D. and the U.C.P.D. teamed up to offer high school students the opportunity to experience distracted and impaired driving. With a police officer riding along, students drove a golf cart around a designated course wearing "Fatal Vision" goggles. It is the hope of S.A.D.D. and the U.C.P.D. that students get the important message to be safe while driving. Click here for the full article.
