NS Family Reading Night

NS Family Reading Night
North Side's Family Reading Night was another great evening to share the love of reading! Family Reading Night is held in conjunction with the PTO-Scholastic Book Fair and Visitor's Week. The whole week is filled with events for students, staff, and families to enjoy books and reading together.

A special Thank You goes to the PTO, and especially Wendy Smith, for all the hard work to make this week successful!

NS Participates in World Read Aloud Day
Several elementary classrooms participated in World Read Aloud Day. Students and teachers read books aloud and created a video to share across Twitter with other classrooms. Students enjoyed the opportunity to hear stories read and performed by other classes around the world.

3rd Grade Participates in Virtual Field Trip
Ms. Gough's third grade class participated in a virtual field trip to visit Lincoln’s boyhood home in Indiana and the two places he called home as an adult, New Salem and Springfield, Illinois. Students were able to talk and see about the lesser known Lincoln, Young Lincoln - Before he was president. The field trip was free and provided through +Learn Around the World's GEOshow.

Mini Dance Clinic and Performance
UCHS Indianettes are offering a clinic and performance opportunity on Tuesday, February 14 to students.

Clinic: 3:30-5:30 - PERFORMANCE THAT EVENING @ Boys’ Varsity Halftime. Clinic held in Haviza Court.

COST: $15.00 - Includes shirt, snack, two-hour instruction, free admittance for dancer to game, and halftime performance. Registration is due no later than Wednesday, Feb. 8th. Checks payable to UC Dance Team. Return form to NS or HS office.
